Wireless Installation

How to install a wireless security system in Texas, by Georgia Akers:

Go to a second-hand store, buy a pair of men's used work boots, a really BIG pair. Put them outside your front door on top of a copy of Guns and Ammo magazine. Put a dog dish beside it, a really BIG dish.

Leave a note on your front door that says something like “Bubba, Big Mike and I have gone to get more ammunition – back in 1/2 an hr. Try not to piss-off the pitbulls, they just been wormed.”

I'm sure this system beats hiring a security firm since they are not allowed to interfer in the commission of a crime. I remember one poor family (rich in possessions) in Houston some years back who were robbed, raped and plundered while the security man, responding to their alarm, sat helpless in his car outside the residence, waiting for the authorities. He watched and probably was a good witness; but that wasn't the service the family thought they were buying. So these companies should sell themselves as "help me, I've fallen" phone dialers, not security systems. Ah, advertising.
